![]() ![]() ![]() We believe, as brought forward and voted on by our members, that funding solutions must include revenue sources that are sufficient, sustainable, and equitable and that solutions must not cut services that support the whole child, or rely on redistribution of existing education funds.Īmply funding basic education is one of our top five priority issues and has been on our platform for many years. Our members are optimistic that both the Governor and the Washington State Legislature will amply fund basic education based on the promise made to the children of Washington State by the McCleary decision. We know that partnering with these groups will help us ensure that our vision of “Making every child’s potential a reality,” continues to be our legacy for all children. We do this through our advocacy, programs, and leadership development and training.Īdditionally, we collaborate with other coalitions and community groups throughout Washington State. In delivering our mission for the whole child, we focus on education, family and community engagement, safety, and the health and well-being of every child. We represent the voices of over 133,000 members throughout the state of Washington. We are the oldest and largest grassroots association focused on advocacy for the whole child in the state. I am honored to be here representing the members of the Washington State Parent Teachers Association.Īt 112 years old, Washington State PTA is a non-partisan association.
